Maytag Microwave Codes Troubleshooting Guide

1. Maytag Error Code AccuPop Fail 

The AccuPop fail error codes pop up when the AccuPop sensor fails, and as a result, the microwave won’t run normally. 

Quick Fix 

Reset the microwave by turning off its circuit breaker for at least 1 minute and then turning it on. Then run the microwave to see if it’s working fine.

2. Demo Mode (dOn/dOff)

The microwave will display dOn to show the Demo Mode is active or dOff to show its disabled. So, its fix depends on whether you want to activate or deactivate Demo Mode. 

Quick Fix 

Open the microwave door and long-press keypad number 3 for about 5 seconds and then the start button for 5 seconds to activate the Demo Mode. 

That clears the code dOff. And if you want to deactivate the Demo Mode (or clear dOn), perform the same procedure. 

3. Open/Close Door or Door Error Code 

In most cases, the Open/Close Door error pops up on your Maytag microwave when you close the door for 5 minutes or more without starting it. 

But still, it could indicate an improperly latched door to an obstruction such as packing material, debris, or an oversized dish. 

Quick Fix 

Open and close the door and then restart your microwave. If the door doesn’t close because of an obstruction, remove it. 

4. LOC (L Code or The Padlock Icon)

If your Maytag microwave shows you the LOC/L symbol or the padlock icon, it indicates an active control lock. In such a case, the microwave won’t run until you disable the lock. 

It’s a security feature that prevents kids from operating the microwave.

6. Error Code PF or Flashing 

If your Maytag over flashes (blinks) or display the code PF, it indicates possible power failure or a turned-off clock. 

Quick Fix 

Stop the flashing by pressing cancel or cancel /off on your microwave. That’ll reset the clock. If the code OF persists, call a microwave expert technician. 

7. Maytag Microwave Codes FCE1/FCE2/FCE3/FCE7

The error code FCE1/FCE2/FCE3/FCE7 will likely pop up when the microwave doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi. It could be due to a weak signal, connection timeout, a failing router, or a wiring fault.

9. Registration Error 

The registration Error Code is just what it sounds like. This error code shows a failed appliance registration, possibly due to a failed internet connection or a wrong SAID number entry (as shared earlier).

Quick Fix 

Ensure your internet connection is working and that you entered the SAID number correctly. You also need to ensure you choose the right appliance during the registration. If not, redo the registration. 

10. Error Code E11 or E12 

The error code E11 or E12 pops up when the gas sensor fails, or there’s an issue with its associated wiring. 

Quick Fix 

Turn the circuit breaker off for 1 minute and then on to reset the microwave, and then try running the microwave. If the error code doesn’t go, then call for help. 

11. Error code F8E5

If there’s an issue with the exhaust air temperature sensor or its associated wiring, the error code F8E5 will pop up and prevent the microwave from running. 

Quick Fix 

Reset the microwave by turning the circuit breaker off for at least 1 minute and then on. Then turn the microwave on to see if it’s working. If it’s not, schedule a service. 

12. Maytag Microwave Error F1E4, E13, F7 Or F6EO

The error code E13, F1E4, F7, or F6EO pops up when the control board or associated wiring has an issue, and as a result, the microwave won’t get hot. 

Quick Fix 

Turn off the breaker for at least 1 minute to reset the microwave. 

13. Error Code E21

The control board will likely trigger the error code E21 when it detects a thermal sensor or control board fault. It could also be their associated wiring. 

Quick Fix 

Turn off the circuit breaker for 1 minute. Then turn it on and power the microwave back on. 

14. Error Code E23

Your microwave oven is expected to pre-heat within 30 minutes. If it fails to heat up, probably because of an issue with the control board or heater, the E23 error code will pop up.
